Ralph Neal Colvard
Mr. Ralph Neal Colvard died July 15, 2012 at Margate Health and Rehab Center in Jefferson after several years of declining health. He was 83.
He was born in Ashe County on Feb. 14, 1929 to Fred Neal Colvard and Zora Williams Colvard. Much of his life was spent working with his father on Colvard Farms.
Mr. Colvard served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by one son, Kevin Colvard; a grandson, Dallas Frederick Colvard; and two sisters, Edith Koen Crutcher and Annabel Hunter Harrill. His surviving nephews are George Koen, Jeff, Eric and Neal Hunter, and one niece, Sandra Koen Barrett.
A private service for family and friends will be held at a later date with burial following in the Colvard family cemetery.
