Ashe County Parks and Recreation has started registration for a Futsal league to be held at Family Central.

Futsal is a version of indoor soccer that is played with a special low-bounce ball on a basketball court. The sport is a fun, fast-paced game that develops skills for all the players.

Registration will last from now through Dec. 2. People can register Monday through Friday at Family Central from 8 a.m until 5 p.m.

The registration fee is $45 per child, and everyone from fourth grade through 12th grade are eligble to participate.

Once all players are registered, teams will be drafted on Dec. 2. Fourth and fifth graders will be drafted at 1 p.m., followed by sixth through eighth graders at 2:30 p.m., and finally ninth through 12th graders are 4 p.m.
