Citizens and taxpayers of Ashe County, we must protect our valuable God given asset and national treasure, the New River. It is only one of two rivers in the world to flow northward. We are so lucky to have it in Ashe County. we swim in it, picnic alongside it, paint it, admire it, and of course fish in it.

If we allow any type of obstruction to the New River, we will regret it, and there will be no turning back after the damage is done. The New River is ours. Let’s take a stand to save it.

Yes I feel the same about our river which is below my house on hwy 16 the new construction Site. There are 2 sites just as you come into Site of the River well its being blocked in two places by cement barriers I drive such and can't see over the walls so tourists and the people of Ashe if you drive by you can't see the river either. What is wrong with guard rail its used the rest of the way you can't this be changed our tax dollars pay for it.

I do agree that we should protect our beloved New River, however the New River is just one of many rivers that run north.
