The 2008-09 winter season was the most successful winter season of Ashe County High School’s history as the Huskies claimed four season championships, two MVAC Tournament Championships, one non-MVAC Tournament Championship, one NCHSAA Sectional Championship, four individual MVAC Tournament Wrestling Championships, MVAC Most Outstanding Wrestler, along with multiple qualifiers for Wrestling post-season tournaments.
A special recognition goes out to Aaron Scott, the NCHSAA 2A State Champion for the 140-weight class! Scott was also named North Carolina’s Most Outstanding 2A Wrestler .
The Huskies saw numerous records broken, and rewrote both by individuals and as teams. All around, the 2008-09 winter season was one that was filled with unforgetable moments, with stellar athletes, and many many memories!
