Richardson leads Quakers over Maryville, Birmingham Southern

Zeb Richardson moved into the starting for its games on Friday and Saturday against Maryville College and Birmingham Southern. The former Husky did not disappoint.

Against Maryville, Richardson scored 10 points and snagged 14 rebounds to help the Quakers take a 73-63 victory.

The very next day against Birmingham Southern, Richardson scored a career-high 17 points and added nine rebounds and three blocks. Guilford went on to an 88-85 win.

The Quakers are now 9-2 overall and have won seven of its last eight contests.

Guilford will enjoy a brief break before it opens the 2013 year at non-conference foe Methodist on Jan. 2, and will then jump back into Old Dominion Athletic Conference action with Hampden-Sydney on Saturday, Jan. 5.

Through 11 games this year, Richardson is average 11 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game and is shooting 57 percent from the field.
