Zeb Richardson and the rest of the Guilford Quakers saw it’s season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Quakers got to the quarters after beating Emory & Henry in the first round on Tuesday, 70-60.

Richardson scored six points, grabbed four rebounds and had a team-high three blocked shots. Jake Hopkins and Matt McCarthy led the way with 17 points. Josh Pittman added eight points as well.

In the quarterfinal matchup, Randolph-Macon stunned Guilford on Friday with a 57-56 victory to put a premature end to the Quakers’ season.

Randolph-Macon’s Marcus Badger buried the game-winning jumper with 49 seconds remaining in the game.

Richardson concluded his season with 10 points and two rebounds in the loss.

Guilford finished the year with an overall record of 18-9, the seventh straight year that the school had boasted a winning record. 18 wins was the most in a season since a tremendous 30-3 season in 2010.

Overall, Richardson wrapped up a great freshman year, averaging just over 10 points and seven rebounds per game in nearly 22 minutes per game on the court. Richardson shot 46.8-percent from the field and just over 73-percent from the free throw line.

The Quakers will hope to build on this season, but will have to do so without one of their top players. Pittman graduates and leaves school as the 15th highest scorer in Guilford history with 1,497 points.
