Former Lady Husky tennis player Ivey Tant is halfway through her senior season of tennis at Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Tant is one of two seniors on the Lenoir-Rhyne roster, and has been playing most of the season as the number two seed.

This year, Tant is 2-5 overall in singles play with a 2-3 mark as the number two seed and an 0-2 record playing as a third seed.

Overall, the Bears have struggled some this year, currently sitting at 0-7 overall and 0-6 in the South Atlantic Conference.

Tant lost her first three matches of the year, but won two straight on back-to-back days. Tant defeated Anna Musiyenko of Coker College 7-6, 2-6, 11-9 on March 9 then beat Alexandra Granger from Lincoln Memorial University in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, the next day.

Most recently, Tant dropped a pair of conference matches against Catawba’s Sloan Kessler and Newberry’s Romina Adum.

Tant and the rest of the Lenoir-Rhyne team will finish up the regular season with a match on March 28 at Brevard, a match on March 30 at Tusculum and the final home match of the season on April 1 against Carson-Newman. The SAC Tennis Conference Tournament is set for April 18-20 in Rock Hill, S.C.
