Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 12, at 2 p.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denton Hart officiating. Burial followed in the Johnson Cemetery in Mountain City, TN.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 11, at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Welch was born in Laurel Bloomery, TN on Tuesday, March 19, 1918 to the late Letcher and Emma Joines Welch. She worked in a retail grocery store.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Welch, and a daughter, Virginia Smiley.
Mrs. Welch is survived by: a son, Ralph Welch of Warrensville; a daughter, Juanita Wilson and husband, Richard, of North Wilkesboro; two brothers, Stacey Greer of Laurel Bloomery, TN and Earl Greer of Mountain City, TN; a sister, Nellie Greer of Creston; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
