Mrs. Yvonne Brooks Francis of Warrensville died on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Margate Health & Rehab Center in Jefferson. She was 96.
Mrs. Francis was born on May 31, 1916, in Ashe County to the late Heggie and Ella Wyatt Brooks.
Mrs. Francis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Worth Francis; and four infant children.
Yvonne retired from Sprague Electric; she enjoyed flowers and was a wonderful seamstress. Mrs. Francis was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Francis is survived by two sons, Rev. Jim Francis and wife Dot, of Lansing, and Joe Francis and wife Shirley, of Warrensville; one daughter, Mary Osborne and husband Clyde, of Creston; one brother, J. H. Brooks, of Warrensville; three sisters, Carrie Lee Brooks Elliott, of Wilkesboro, Lola Greer and husband Howard, Clarcie Eller, both of Warrensville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Fred Richardson and Rev. Tommy Dollar. Burial will follow in Brooks Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Flowers will be appreciated.
