NEW YORK — Mountain Faith Band, a bluegrass band based in the mountains of North Carolina, will not advance further in NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” reality show.
The group performed a rendition of The Weeknd’s “I Can’t Feel My Face” during the semifinals rounds which aired Tuesday, Sept. 1. Viewers had until Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7 a.m. to cast their votes in order to send Mountain Faith forward in the competition.
Despite critical comments from the show’s judges after Tuesday’s performance, Mountain Faith posted a statement on their Facebook page stating:
“In spite of the judges’ comments, we know who holds tomorrow! We’ve had great exposure and wonderful fan support! We are honored to represent the genre, our fans, our town of Sylva and let our light shine for Him here in NYC.”
The results of the semifinal rounds were announced during a results show Wednesday night, revealing that Mountain Faith did not advance.
Mountain Faith released a statement stating:
“We want to thank all the people out there for the overwhelming support. We have had an amazing time on the show and are very grateful for the exposure. We can’t wait to get back on the road and play our music for all the people we love!” We look forward to seeing everyone soon!”
