SYLVA-Ashe native Luke Dotson and his band mates have had a busy year.

Dotson is a guitarist for Sylva-based Mountain Faith, a bluegrass band that has so far made the most of 2015.

The group made a big splash this summer on America’s Got Talent, were nominated last month for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Emerging Artist of the Year award and just recently released their second album, That Which Matters, for Mountain Fever Records.

Now the band can add another feather to their cap. That Which Matters debuted this week in the top position on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums Chart.

“Wow! Someone pinch us,” Mountain Faith’s lead vocalist Summer McMahan wrote on Facebook. “We just learned that our brand new record “That Which Matters” is Number One on the Bluegrass Billboard Charts. We can’t thank all of you enough for supporting us. This is a dream come true.”

So what’s next from Dotson and company? Try a tour of military bases in the middle east starting Nov. 12 in Qatar.
