Road closed as crew works to clean up the accident

HELTON-A tractor trailer carrying Christmas trees overturned on Helton Road Tuesday leading authorities to close the road while crews clean up the accident.

That news comes from the NC Department of Transportation and the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The accident occurred in the 2500-block of Helton Road/SR-1527 near one of the bridges that cross Helton Creek.

The accident occurred sometime in the early morning hours on Nov. 17, according to North Carolina Highway Patrol communications.
