Ashe County wreck report

ASHE COUNTY — The following accidents between Jan. 24 and Jan. 30 were reported by the North Carolina Highway Patrol and are considered public record.

Jan. 24

4:02 p.m.

Crumpler

A single-vehicle accident happened on Hudler Town Road in Crumpler. According to the narrative, Scott Ashley Burr of West Jefferson was traveling east when the vehicle ran off the road to the right and down an embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to a stop in a creek.

Burr was uninjured.

The 1993 Jeep involved had about $2,500 in damages and was not considered drivable.

No citations were issued.

Jan. 29

4:14 p.m.

West Jefferson

A single-vehicle accident happened on Highway 88 about six miles from West Jefferson. According to the narrative, Kathy Dickson Dowdy of Lansing was traveling west when the vehicle ran off the road to the right and struck a ditch.

Dowdy was uninjured.

The 2001 Mazda involved had about $4,000 in damages and was not considered drivable.

No citations were issued.

6:15 p.m.

West Jefferson

A single-vehicle accident happened on Mount Jefferson Road in West Jefferson. According to the narrative, Adrian Blake Winterton of West Jefferson was traveling south when the vehicle hit some black ice and ran off the road to the right, struck a sign and overturned.

Winterton was uninjured.

The 2001 Jeep involved had about $2,000 in damages and was not considered drivable.

Winterton was cited for failure to maintain lane control.
