WILKES COUNTY-Ashe County Sheriff James Williams advised people Sunday morning to be on the lookout for a Virginia man who authorities believe was involved in a double shooting in Grayson County, Va.

“They had a double shooting this morning,” Williams said shortly before noon March 20. “One dead and looking for suspect.”

Ashe County Communications said the suspect in question is Greyling Dwayne “Benny” Davis, 52, of Grayson County, Va. Williams said he was last seen traveling in a 2006 white Chevrolet Cobalt on NC-18 heading toward Wilkes County. The license plate on the car is listed as MP1330, according to Williams.

Davis is registered with the Virginia State Police as a sex offender following a conviction on charges in 1998.
