Ashe County wreck report

ASHE COUNTY — The following accidents between March 6 and March 12 were reported by the North Carolina Highway Patrol and are considered public record.

March 7

7:30 a.m.

Fleetwood

A single-vehicle accident happened on Railroad Grade Road in Fleetwood. According to the narrative, Erin Kathleen Flynn of Fleetwood was traveling south when the vehicle ran off the road to the right. Flynn over-corrected and the vehicle came back on the road, ran off the road to the right again and struck a rock. The vehicle then overturned. Flynn stated that she hit ice on the road.

Flynn and two children were uninjured.

The 2013 Nissan involved had about $5,000 in damages and was not considered drivable.

Flynn was cited for a lane control violation and driving with an expired tag.

March 8

2:54 p.m.

West Jefferson

A single-vehicle accident happened on Highway 88 about four miles from West Jefferson. According to the narrative, Danny Joe Little of West Jefferson was traveling west in a tractor and trailer. The truck ran off the road to the right and struck a ditch and an embankment before coming to a stop.

Little was uninjured.

The 2007 Kenworth involved had about $10,000 in damages and was not considered drivable.

Little was cited for a lane control violation and driving without a license.

March 10

7:49 a.m.

Fleetwood

A single-vehicle accident happened on Highway 221 near Fleetwood. According to the narrative, Shannon Star Coldiron-Calhoun of West Jefferson was traveling south. Traffic came to an abrupt stop and Coldiron-Calhoun swerved to the left to avoid a collision. The vehicle ran off the left side of the road into a ditch.

Coldiron-Calhoun was uninjured.

The 2003 Chevrolet involved had about $3,500 in damages and was not considered drivable.

No citations were issued.
