Here’s what happened in district court last week

The following cases were heard during the April 28 session of Ashe County District Court.

Richard Lee Absher, who was charged with DWI, had his case continued until May 26.

Darrian Kentre Austin appeared in court on a charge of DWI. His case was continued until May 26.

Ricky Barnes is facing a charge of driving while license revoked for a non-impaired revocation. His case was continued until May 26.

Robert Alan Bennett, who was charged with DWI, had his case continued until May 26.

Justin Lee Billings will reappear in court on May 26. He is facing a list of multiple charges that includes DWI, felony breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, possession of synthetic cannaboids and possession of marijuana.

James Bittle, who is facing charges of possession of marijuana up to half an ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia, is scheduled to reappear in court on July 14.

Damion Okoyia Blevins, who was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, is scheduled to reappear in court on June 2.

Daniel Joseph Boone is scheduled to reappear in court on June 30 on a charge of misdemeanor larceny.

In the case of Gary Wilson Church the state accepted a dismissal in driving left of center.

Dakota James Collins, who was charged with felony sell/deliver of a Schedule II controlled substance, must reappear in court on May 26.

In the case of Billy Joe Combs, a bond motion was denied for felony trafficking heroin. His case was continued to May 12.

Jeffrey Cummings, who is charged with DWLR for a not impaired revocation, was given a prayer for judgment continued until June 16. He must take care of the ‘failure to appear’ charges on his record.

Jessica Marie Harmon, who was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to half an ounce, was sentenced to 15 days in the Ashe County Jail, suspended for 12 months supervised probation and was ordered to pay court costs.

Brandon Malcom Leming, who is facing charges of felony first degree sex offense with a child and indecent liberties with a child, had his case continued until July 7.

Mary Bare McCraw, who was charged with felony trafficking opium or heroin, is scheduled to reappear in court on July 7.

Terry Allen Rash, who was charged with DWI, is scheduled to reappear in court on June 2.

Ricky Page Reeves, who was charged with DWI, is scheduled to reappear in court on May 19.

Roger Wayne Roush, who was charged with felony trafficking opium/heroin, had his case continued until July 7.

Brooke Michelle Severt, who was charged with DWLR on a non-impaired revocation, was sentenced to 15 days ACJ, suspended for 18 months of supervised probation. She must pay court costs. The state accepted a dismissal on a charge of operating a vehicle with no insurance

Ronny Dale Sheets, who was charged with felony statutory rape/sex offense, saw his case continued until Sept. 1

Kathryn Yates, who was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, must reappear in court on May 26.
