Charlotte motorcyclist ejected from bike, airlifted Sunday

(File photo) According to the N.C. Highway Patrol, Peter Friendly Murphy, of Charlotte, was travelling east on a Ducati motorcycle when he crossed the center line of the highway and struck a Toyota passenger car driven by Billy Ray Forrester, of Mountain City, Tenn.


CRESTON-A Charlotte motorcyclist was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center following a collision on N.C. 88 West near Creston early Sunday afternoon.

According to the N.C. Highway Patrol, Peter Friendly Murphy, of Charlotte, was travelling east on a Ducati motorcycle when he crossed the center line of the highway and struck a Toyota passenger car driven by Billy Ray Forrester, of Mountain City, Tenn.

Murphy was ejected from his bike and came to rest in the highway. Murphy was airlifted to the Winston-Salem hospital. Citations against Murphy are pending.
