BRISTOL, Va-A West Jefferson man was arrested in Virginia last week after authorities say he attempted to solicit a prostitute.

That news comes from multiple Twin City media outlets and the Bristol, Va Police Department.

According to WCYB Television, Matthew F. Baker, 35, of West Jefferson, was arrested after police say he solicited an undercover officer and offered him $20 for sex acts.

The Bristol Herald Courier said Baker, while driving a vehicle, offered an undercover officer $20 for sexual acts. The officer then directed Baker to the Bristol PD’s parking lot. The Courier said he was then taken into custody, and given a $1,000 bond and an Aug. 11, court date.

Baker’s was the most recent prostitution related arrest in Bristol, according to the Herald Courier. On Aug. 3, Laurn R. Beckner, 49, of Glade Spring, Virginia, was arrested and also charged with solicitation.
