The following cases were heard during the Aug. 31 session of Ashe County Superior Court. All information was obtained from the Ashe County Clerk of Court’s office.
Mary Christine Hunt was convicted of possession/distributing meth precursors. She was sentenced to 19 to 35 months in the North Carolina Department of Corrections. This term was suspended for 24 months of supervised probation. She will avoid jail time on that charge as long as she abides by the terms of her probation. She was also ordered to pay $2,600 in attorney fees. The state dismissed charges of felony conspiracy and felony possession of meth.
Michael Lee Reed was convicted of felony obtaining property by false pretenses. He was sentenced to 10 to 21 months in prison, which was suspended for 36 months of probation.
Melissa Dawn Rash was convicted of felony obtaining property by false pretenses. She was sentenced to 15 to 27 months in the NCDOC. She was also convicted of felony identity theft. She was sentenced to 15 to 27 months in the NCDOC for that charge. The state dismissed a charge of habitual felon.
Terry Allen Rash was convicted of felony habitual impaired driving. He was sentenced to 17 to 30 months in the NCDOC.
Aaron Banks Dixon is scheduled to reappear in court on Feb. 16 for first degree sex offense.
Dean Eldreth, Jr. is scheduled to reappear in court on Feb. 16 for felony second degree rape.
