WEST JEFFERSON — It was a full day of football at Ashe County High School with youth teams and the Ashe County Middle School Bulldogs in action.

The first and second grade Huskies pounded Elkin with a 36-8 victory. The third and fourth grade squad lost a hard-fought contest to Elkin by a 20-8 score.

Fifth and sixth graders suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to Elkin by a 12-6 score.

In middle school action, the Bulldogs escaped with a 16-14 win.
