Trey Scott repeats as Mountain Aire club champion

WEST JEFFERSON — Trey Scott competed against Buddy Ellison on Sunday, Oct. 25, in the 2015 Mountain Aire Club Championship finals.

Scott was in control of the 36-hole match play event most of the way with both players playing great golf. Scott was able to win the match play event on the 31st hole, taking home the Mountain Aire Club Champion title for the third year in a row and the sixth time in eight years.

In addition to this match, there were also competitions in the Men’s Handicap Division, Senior Men’s Division, Senior Men’s Handicap Division, and the Ladies Division.

Larry Branch played well in this year’s competition edging out Jere Vodenicker for the Senior Men’s Championship.

Jim Eastridge was able to win the Men’s Handicap Division Championship over JR Shatley in a very close 18-hole match that was won on the 15th hole.

The Senior Men’s Handicap Championship was taken home by Harry Schaefer after a hard fought victory over Tom Newell.

The Ladies Championship was an 18-hole stroke play event and was won this year by Jeannette Key.

Mountain Aire would like to congratulate all of the winners during the 2015 Club Championship Series.
