Warriors add three home wins

MOUTH OF WILSON, Va. — The Oak Hill Academy Warriors ended play last weekend with a 37-1 record after three convincing victories in three days.

Oak Hill 91, Bull City Prep (N.C) 52

Ty-Shon Alexander nailed four of five three-point attempts and was one of five Warrior players in double figures to lead Oak Hill past the visiting Bull City Prep squad from Durham on Thursday.

Alexander had 16 points to go along with four assists. Braxton Key scored 15 points and snagged eight rebounds, Matt Coleman scored 14 points and had a team-leading eight assists, Mario Kegler scored 11 points off the bench and Khadim Sy added 11 points as well. Lindell Wigginton netted nine points, Devontae Shuler had eight and Rodney Miller scored four.

Oak Hill 101, Covenant Christian (Ga.) 57

Kegler poured in 23 points to lead the Warriors to the team’s 36th win of the year on Friday.

Key stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, eight rebounds, six steals, five blocks and four assists. Shuler ended up with 15 points and six assists, Wigginton had 13 points and five assists, Alexander scored 12 and Coleman scored seven points with a team-high eight assists.

Oak Hill 101, Prominence Academy (N.C.) 64

The Warriors ended the weekend with its third home win in three days, this one over Prominence Academy from Raleigh.

Alexander was on fire from three-point land once again, scoring 27 points to be the leading scorer. Sy finished with 21 points and 10 boards, Wigginton, Shuler and Kegler each added nine points and sophomore Montez Mathis added nine points off the bench. Coleman finished with five points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

This weekend, the Warriors will be back in action on Friday and Saturday at home. Oak Hill hosts SCORE Academy on Friday and Deeper Life Ministries on Saturday.
