Mountain Madness Hoops Camp is June 14-16

WEST JEFFERSON — Varsity basketball head coach Nathan Colvard will be hosting the inaugural Mountain Madness Hoops Camp at Ashe County High School.

The camp dates for this summer are June 14-16 for rising third graders through rising 10th graders.

Third through sixth graders will take part in camp from 9 a.m. until noon each day while the seventh through 10th graders will play from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Campers should arrive 15 minutes prior to when their sessions begin.

Pre-registration is welcomed but not required. Campers may register on Tuesday, June 14 prior to the morning and afternoon sessions.

The cost for the camp is $50 which includes three days of hoops fun and learning as well as a camp t-shirt. Those ninth and 10th grade players that are attending the Catawba camp will only have to pay $25 to participate.

Joining Coach Colvard will be his assistant coaches as well as current and former Husky hoops players.

According to Colvard, the objective of the camp is to give young players the opportunity to learn more about the game of basketball with emphasis being placed on teaching proper fundamentals. Campers will develop and improve their basketball skills while working hard and still having fun.
