WEST JEFFERSON — After sweeping the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference track championships, Ashe County placed 22 male and female athletes on the all-conference list.

Head coach Alex Rollins was also recognized as MVAC Coach of the Year for both the men and the women after taking home both conference titles.

Ashe had 11 athletes on each list. For the men, the Huskies were represented by Hunter Argetsinger, Jason Durr, Matt Greer, Sam Hudler, Nick Lanfranchi, Victor Melo, Luis Ramos, Alex Richardson, Riley Richardson, Andrew Tedder and Wesley Waddell.

The women were represented by Savannah Cary, Chetola Greer, Vanessa Guijosa, Kaitlyn Jordan, Constance Mattix, Bella Potter, Olivia Randolph, Brooklyn Roten, Spencer Simino, Chloe Sullivan and Madison Warner.

Ashe added five more athletes to the honorable mention list: Terek Ashley, Tafton Baker, Gareth Berry, Billy Reyna and Jake Shepherd.

Men’s MVAC Player of the Year award was shared between two athletes: Trey Lomax from Starmount and Tyler Hanks from Alleghany.

For the women, Lauryn Turner of North Wilkes and Olivia Bullard of East Wilkes shared MVAC Player of the Year honors.
