JEFFERSON — It would be the visitors from Roanoke Valley that took home the machine pitch 8U championship with a winner-take-all victory over Currituck in the title game.

For Ashe, the tournament stay was a brief one after the all-star team was defeated in their first two games.

In game one, Edenton overpowered Ashe for a 14-3 victory. In the second game, Ashe battled hard but still fell just short, falling to Cashie, 19-14.

Currituck defeated Roanoke Valley, 12-9, to force a deciding championship game. That would be the only loss of the tournament for Roanoke Valley as they bounced back for a 14-8 win in the title game.

The 14U softball championship also wrapped up on Friday with Cashie going 3-0 in pool play to win the title. Cashie outscored its opponents a combined 44-7 in the three games
