BRISTOL, Tenn. — The High Country Grizzlies have already tried to expand its reach, putting the team’s colors, logo and name on a truck driven by Cody McMahan in Wednesday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
McMahan made his NCWTS debut driving the number 10 Chevrolet owned by Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing.
“NASCAR is a great opportunity for the High Country Grizzlies organization and our sponsors to increase our presence in the area and nationwide,” said team owner Donald Thompson. “Race fans are football fans, and this will allow them the chance to learn about the Grizzlies and the Arena Developmental League. We are very happy to have a driver the caliber of Cody McMahan to represent us. Being from our local area, it will help tighten the bond with our fans and race fans.”
McMahan was thrilled to be in the event, saying that it was a dream to race at Bristol, and was appreciative of the High Country Grizzlies being the primary sponsor on the truck.
Other associate sponsors for the race included KaraoQ, Smokeware and Schwarze Industries.
The Grizzlies are set to open its inaugural season in March of 2017 with all games being played at the Holmes Convocation Center in Boone.
The Grizzlies also recently found out where they will be practicing in the coming months to not interfere with the Appalachian State University football, volleyball or basketball teams. The team will be utilizing the football field at Hardin Park Elementary School.
