Twilight League comes to a close

Ashe County Builders took home the Twilight League Tournament Championship.


Furches Evergreens finished as the Twilight League regular season champs with a 10-0-1 record.


WEST JEFFERSON — The 2016 Twilight League at Mountain Aire Golf Course finished up on Sept. 26 with the championship match of the postseason tournament.

Ashe County Builders came away with the victory over Mountain Aire.

Team members for Ashe County Builders were: Jonah Greer, Jamie Greer, Alan Goodman, Adam Ravelin, Nathan Greer, Kenneth Riley, Kendall Wagoner, Judy Saas, Travis Senter and Jonathan Humphries.

The regular season championship team belonged to Furches Evergreens. The team finished with a 10-0-1 record but were upset in the tournament.

The Furches Evergreens team was made up of Dwight Furches, Daniel Furches, Don Smith, Cary Rousseau, Kevin Miller, Justin Jones, Jimmy Cox, Ryan Huffman, TJ Landwehrmann, Kevin Aldridge, Bryson Payne, Derek Calhoun, Jonathan Barlow, Zak May, Sam Gammons and Issac Scott.

Mountain Aire Golf Course would like to thank all of the players and team sponsors for making this another successful season. This was the 46th year of the annual Twilight League, played on Monday nights each summer.
